B&A Foundation grants financial aid and scholarships to enable women to achieve their potential. Amount of grant depends upon the need of the applicant and the ability of the foundation.

Criteria for Awards

Preference is given to candidates who are

from underserved or disadvantaged backgrounds or have suffered unexpected life changes
the primary financial support for their dependents (children, spouse, siblings and/or parents) in financial need
not currently receiving sufficient grants or awards (from government sources, religious or minority groups, corporate or professional sponsors or college or university)
accepted into a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program
motivated to complete their educational and career goals
not previous recipients of this award
not presently posess an advanced degree

Projects

Mission

Women often have to assume the responsibility of providing for their family and children. There are many barriers to their success including social and religious ones. Economic hardship for such families affects their children negatively, sometimes for many generations to come. With better education and awareness women are likely to do better in the workplace and hence able to support a more stable family with better outcome for their children. This would have an overall positive effect on the society. To this effect, the Bushra and Ata ur Rehman Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to improve the condition of less fortunate women in the United States. This includes but is not limited to

Providing educational material and creating awareness of issues important to women
Providing educational grants and scholarships to disadvantaged women
Providing financial aid to help women in difficult circumstances in life
Providing or paying for legal aid to those women who are unable to afford it
